DJI Avata 2: Park flying freestyle
Took the Avata 2 to a large park to test the range. I am very amazed at the video transmission range of this thing. It gives you the freedom to sit back and focus on flying without video drop outs.

hi bro how did you do the power loop so smoothly??
There’s a couple things to keep in mind while doing loops with the Avata 2. The Avata 2 is a bit under powered, and it suffers from prop wash. So, when coming out of a loop, when you start to see the ground, this is when you want to start applying throttle and pulling back on your elevator stick at the same time. If you don’t, what ends up happening is that the Avata 2 will flatten out (become leveled with the horizon) while descending out of the loop, which will cause it to be affected by prop washing, causing it to violently wobble and shake. Think of the Avata 2 as a drone that you want to throttle, cut the throttle to throw the drone in the direction you want to go, then slowly throttle up to do a controlled fall.
Beautiful flight, fast and smooth 👍👏 liked and subbed

@@RichardDosSantosDrones thank you 🙏
@@RichardDosSantosDrones thank you very much
perfect flight!
Hey, thank you!
Why does my Avata 2 always dead roll when doing split s or something else?
I would love to see video of it doing that so I can get a better understanding of what’s happening. Just keep in mind that the Avata suffers from prop wash when coming out of loops or split-s. When you say dead roll, do you mean prop wash?
@@RichardDosSantosDrones yeah,,how to prevent that from happening?
@@miseryofficial5643 the way to prevent that is to slowly give the Avata throttle as you’re coming out of a dive. If you allow the Avata to float out of the loop with no throttle and then punch the throttle at the bottom of the loop, there will be too much air being pushed into the ducts from the bottom. And since the Avata is already under powered, the Avata won’t be able to recover in time even with full throttle. It’s all dirty air, which causes the prop wash. You just have to remember keep the propellers spinning fast enough as it’s coming out of the loop to keep the air flowing from top to bottom. If you don’t, dirty air happens when too much air is flowing through the propellers from bottom to top.
Thank you very much for the explanation, I will try it later
very nice video👍
Nice great video and view 👍
Cheers! Thank you!
Did you find your filter after? :D
hahaha, no I didn't find the ND filter. I feel like I spend half my time flying and half my time looking for my ND filter that fell off my Avata 2.
@@RichardDosSantosDrones Which ND filters do you have?
@@razorartur I have a set of the DJI filters. I tried a set of cheap ND filters from Amazon, but they didn’t fit onto the camera as secure as the ones from DJI.
excellent flight! subbed for more

awesome!! what are your rates?
Hey, everything you need is in the video description section.
wowwww bravissimo likeee 36 ciao da italy iscritto
thank you!
Too much flips for me, but this was good! keep going
Hey, thanks man. I did do a lot of flips in this video, but it's to show everyone with an Avata 2, what the Avata is capable of.
Hi, awesome flying! Can I ask how did you stabilized this shots? Thanks! Keep flying!
Hi, I’m using the built-in video stabilizer found in your drone camera settings, it’s call Rocksteady. I know everyone swears by the Gyroflow video stabilizer program, but it produces some weird warping of the videos. I find that Rocksteady works flawlessly. I do also practice a lot at making my stick movements as fluid as possible.
Nice footage! I've been flipping diving around my yard, slowly building up confidence. I've been having a ton of fun with it.
Hey, thanks Brandon. I started out doing the same thing. I made a list of freestyle moves, practice them on my simulator, then spent several days practicing with my drone. The most important tip I can give anyone with an Avata 2, is that it’s a bit under powered, so you’ll need to feather the throttle when coming out of a dive or loop. This is the reality of a FPV/cinematic drone.
Looking great! trynna decide whether to get the fpv or the avata 2! Looks like the avata 2 is better for tighter stuff so I'm leaning more towards that but still want abit of long range freestyle etc.
I might be wrong, but I think the Avata 2 has a longer range and more flight time than the DJI FPV. Also the Avata 2 can crash and keep on going. I’ve crashed the Avata 2 more times than I can count. The whole frame of my Avata 2 is cracked and warped and it still flies amazingly.
@RichardDosSantosDrones wow ya sounds like that's what I need to go with thanks !
Man you been FPV-ing since antenna tracker...Now you look like "Mr Steele or Johnny" FPV lol...By the way can I live in your basement lol
Man I love FPV, just look up and all your problems disappear. Hahaha, come on over. I got tired living cramped in the city and wanted a lot more space. Almost 7,500 sqft and my front porch is my favorite place to sit back and relax.
@RichardDosSantosDrones It's nice man congrats 👏
@@basimpsn I couldn’t find you on Facebook. Find me under my name and send me an invite so we can reconnect.
@@RichardDosSantosDrones ok
Omg that’s a beautiful place to live
hey, thank you! Yes, it's a very peaceful and quite wooded area. I love it here.
You make this look so smooth and easy, the flips/loops to circle back are great. I don't have my controller 3 yet but I hope to get to this level of skill in a couple months. Great video!
Going manual is when the real fun starts, and all the crashing. It took me a whole month of practicing to get to this point. This is with zero FPV quad experance. I've build and flown FPV planes for 20 years, but this is my first FPV quad. You have the right drone for learning, the Avata 2 and crash and keep on going.
that first pass over the car was breathe taking .really awesome video and skillz
Hey! Thanks man, I’m glad you liked it.
Hey! That's cool. btw what's the song name?
The song is a remix to Moby - God Moving over the face of the waters. I just placed a link in the video discription to the UA-cam channel I got it from. The full name of the song is Moby - God Moving over the face of the waters (Sealz Experimental Mix).
Hey man, nice vidz ! I'm having a lot of trouble piloting this drone, several crash on my side too. I need to fly more i guess
When I first got the drone I couldn’t get it off the ground without crashing, this was in full manual. I just decided to practice everyday for a month. For a month I did three flights a day, crashed every minute for a month, until I got the hang of it. You’ll get there once you put in the time to practice. Start off using my rates, they’re not too crazy, it’s a really good balance.
@@RichardDosSantosDrones thanks a lot for your advices, apreciate man
How are u doing dives like that? Are u in manual mode? When I try to dive my avata struggles
You can only fly like this in manual mode using the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3. You can not dive or do loops with the Motion Controller.
That is a super nice neighborhood your living in.
Thanks, it sure is. It's built on American Civil War battle ground. So it's pretty sacred, protected and very peaceful.
Nice man❤
perfect
Thanks man!
you got the skillz that payz the billz right there my good man.
Thank you, cheers!
Gyroflow or rocksteady ?
Hey Ghost! I’m using Rocksteady. I’ve tried Gyroflow on all my other videos, but it warps and crops the videos too much. I find that Rocksteady smoothens out everything without any noticeable warping or cropping of the video. I actually this video was only intended to test some video settings, but I suddenly got into the mood to push the Avata 2 to its limits to see if the ISO would keep up with the lighting changes. I had set the ISO to automatic in this video, that’s why the video quality is so poor. Next time I’m going a set a manual ISO.
@@RichardDosSantosDrones Just a question from a nooby avata 2 owner....Can you customize a button on the controller to switch into slow motion mode on the camera?
I don't think you can on the Avata. You'll have to shoot at a max of 60 fps and then slow the footage down in your video editing software.
@@RichardDosSantosDrones OK thanks I might have to pester DJI to upgrade the firmware to allow it.
@@shadowbanned5164 hahaha, good luck! Just remember that they gave us 60 fps so we can convert the footage from the Avata to slow motion.
Terrible
hahaha, the absolute worst!
Impressive
Thank you my guy!
Nice!

smooth moves man, nice fpv flight,. got started with avata2 as well .. new subs here 🤝
Thanks my guy, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’ve put so many flights on the Avata 2 and this was the first flight I didn’t crash. At this point my Avata 2 frame is cracked and warped from all the crashes and it still flies perfect. I’ve been stuck flying from my front porch because I’m waiting for DJI to deliver the batteries I ordered so I can drive out to a new location. Feel free to try out my rates I posted in the description, it allows the Avata 2 to shoot some cinematic videos and do some acrobatic flights. For cinematic videos, just bring the camera angle down to 15, and for flights like this video, set the angle to 25.
thank u very much for the tip bro .. I appreciate it,. I’ll try it for sure.. I guess u also have the dji care .. enjoy & have a safe flight my friend 💪🏼💪🏼

How much does it cost to go for a parasail?
I'm thinking of doing this for this 4th. where did you take off at?
Daniel Chiu I took off from my hotel room’s balcony
Richard Dos Santos oh ok. I’m trying to just find somewhere to park near it to record 😝
Daniel Chiu Then you can take off from anywhere, just don’t go too high. Just be mindful of air traffic. In this video I flew as high as the fireworks because I knew no local air traffic wouldn’t have came near it.
Richard Dos Santos yeah I did the same. There were a lot of drones out there and because of it a lot of signal Interference. Some one even lost there drone because of it.
fyou gotta learn to color correct bro
Steven Sorrentini I know nothing about color correcting or making videos, please teach me your awesome editing skills.

My grandson and I were out in the boat this summer 2017 and a drone flew over, been looking for the video if any. Thanks for sharing, love the music too.
I made a lot of videos of Rocky Gap this summer, but haven't posted them yet. Do you remember the date you were at the park, or what kind of boat you guys were in?
We were there 3 times, 7/14, 8/1, 8/16...can't remember which date we saw the drone. Blue 16' Alumacraft Bass Boat. Thanks.
I flew over a lot of boats, here's a sample clip of my flying over a boat. Was the drone you saw flying very low?ua-cam.com/video/NFUsXaSlgLI/v-deo.html
Yes Sir
Michael Nicholson Do you remember the color of the drone, was it dark or white? I've been flying a DJI MavicPro. After reviewing my videos I noticed that I flew over about 20+ boats.
